GBCS held a whole school fundraiser and spirit day last week, to support the people in Ukraine. Students were asked to donate a toonie to the Red Cross Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal. Donations will provide food, water, medical supplies, shelters, psychological support, and mobile health teams to the Ukrainian people.
Students sported their blues and yellows Friday April 1, to show their support for Ukraine. Blue and yellow hearts were painted on faces and posters decorated the entire school. As you can see in the photos, it was very exciting to witness the entire school alive with so much school spirit, love and energy.
Some classes wrote beautiful compassionate letters to Ukrainian children that were sent to the Red Cross refuge centres to be distributed to the many children.
“Thank you to all GBCS students, parents, and staff, we are grateful for your generous support and spirit! We are so proud to be part of this wonderful, kind, and compassionate community,” said organizers.
