The GBHS Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Ann Ford to the position of President and CEO. Ann will commence her role late October 2023.

Ann Ford has over 30 years of executive healthcare leadership experience, and is currently the Executive Vice President of Corporate Services and Integrated Health Systems at William Osler Health System. Ford’s experience includes a broad range of corporate responsibilities that includes redevelopment, operations, and information technology. She has significant experience working with the Province and healthcare system partners on project development and implementation.

We are very pleased Ann will be joining GBHS as our next President and CEO. Ann is a transformational leader with the vision and expertise to take the lead on the implementation of our strategy and development plans,” said Jo Flewwelling, Chair, GBHS Board of Directors. “Ann’s experience in project development and working with stakeholders serving both large and small communities is an excellent fit for GBHS and our broad geography of rural and multi-site healthcare.”

Ford has worked with Prism Partners, a project management and consulting firm serving healthcare, research, academic, municipal, and private sectors, as well as leading Strategic Development and Patient Support Services at the University Health Network – Toronto Western Hospital. In addition to her BSc. Microbiology, she holds a Master of Health Administration from the University of Colorado and is a graduate of the Advanced Health Care Leadership Program at Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.

Ford joins GBHS at an exciting time as the GBHS is opening a new hospital in Markdale as well as a Wellness & Recovery Centre in Owen Sound. Current President and CEO Gary Sims will continue in his role until November 3, to ensure a seamless transition.

The GBHS Board thanks Gary Sims for his exemplary leadership for the past four years. Please join us in welcoming Ann Ford to our community,” said the GBHS.
