EGHAA Celebrates National Range Day

The East Grey Hunters and Anglers Association celebrated the first annual National Range Day with an open house on Saturday, June 4, inviting anyone interested in target sports from archery and air rifles to shotguns and pistols to visit the club’s range, and to learn about and try some of the members’ firearms.

The EGHAA range is situated on 63 acres of land on Grey Road 112 in the Municipality of Meaford, and it features a clubhouse, 25, 50, and 100 yard ranges along with trap and archery ranges, offering a range of experiences for the visitors during the open house.

Established in 1967, the EGHAA has a long history in the municipality, and members were eager to share their knowledge with those who attended the open house. Visitors young and old were able to experience shooting a rifle or using a bow and arrow, often for the first time, with members offering guidance and tips.

Organizers of the open house were pleased with the turnout, and the opportunity to share the various shooting sports with others who might never have experienced target sports previously.
