Change is not coming to Meaford – it’s here! And we should have something to say about it!
Imagine Meaford (imaginemeaford.ca) is a grassroots collective of residents who originally came together over concerns with the surge of development that is coming to Meaford. Since then, we have formalized and hosted our first information session on the SkyDev proposal that will be presented by Council at a public meeting on Monday, May 17, at approximately 6:30 p.m. (meaford.ca) under Current Developments for the notice.
This public meeting will be the only chance for Meaford residents to speak up and express their concerns with the application as it goes through the planning process. Imagine Meaford has noted contrasts in the SkyDev proposal vs. the Meaford Official Plan mandate and our elected officials and staff need to hear it from all of us.
We encourage residents to be informed and involved — to think critically, listen closely, and inquire openly. To be heard by those who will ultimately make the decision on the SkyDev proposal, we urge you to register with the Clerk (clerk@meaford.ca) before noon on Monday, May 17, to either speak (virtually), or submit a personally drafted letter to ensure your comments will become part of the public record in the minutes of that meeting.
