The Municipality of Meaford recognizes Pride Month each June—a time to honour the resilience, history, and contributions of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, both locally and around the world.
As the first week of Pride Month comes to a close, Meaford continues to celebrate equity, inclusion, and acceptance—values that help build safe and welcoming communities for all. The municipality remains committed to fostering a place where diversity is respected and where everyone, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation, feels a true sense of belonging.
To mark the beginning of Pride Month, the Pride flag was raised at Meaford Hall and continued to fly until June 8. During this time, the Meaford Water Tower was lit in vibrant rainbow colours, serving as a bright symbol of inclusion, visibility, and community pride.
The Municipality of Meaford encourages residents to explore and take part in the many 2SLGBTQIA+ events, supports, and resources available throughout the Grey Bruce and South Georgian Bay region. These offerings provide meaningful ways to connect, learn, and celebrate alongside a broader community.
