Celebrating 10 Years Of Dance & Aerial In Meaford

Local dance studio Mutable Arts is presenting their latest dance concert called A Decade of Dance and Aerial in Meaford.

We’ve been sharing our love of dance and the aerial arts with the people of Meaford for ten years now,” said Georgie Donais, Director of Mutable Arts. “This has given us a chance to contribute to the health and well-being of hundreds of local students over the last decade, and we’re taking a moment to celebrate that in our upcoming dance concert.”

Donais continued, “Inclusion has always been a goal of ours. We’ve worked hard to make dance and aerial arts accessible, regardless of income or situation. Recreation funding from the town and from Meaford Culture Foundation has been a big part of that, as have our own studio bursaries. We encourage people of all ages to dance, and have a rocking jazz and tap class for adults and seniors on Thursday afternoons. We’ve hosted students of many abilities over the years, and are partnering with Dancing For Parkinson’s to bring the local chapter to the stage with us for this show, led by Louise Stewart-Potts!”

Donais also noted that the studio is working with a program in the local school board to offer an aerial silks class for students with autism in an upcoming session.

This performance offers half-price tickets for children, a runtime of just over an hour, and a convenient downtown location. It is a show for friends, families, and the community at large.

The show takes place on June 5, at Meaford United Church. Tickets are on sale now at www.mutablearts.ca, and will also be available at the door.
