In honour of National AccessAbility Week, the Municipality of Meaford is shining the spotlight on the Meaford Moves+ accessible transit service for Day 2. Meaford Moves+ is an accessible, door-to-door bus service that Municipal residents who have a disability or mobility challenge may be eligible for. A disability or mobility challenge includes but is not limited to a physical, sensory, cognitive or mental health disability.
Riders can use Meaford Moves+ for medical or professional appointments, or for going to work. Going shopping, or visiting with friends is also a permitted use, but is currently not available due to the Provincial lockdown measures. When these services re-open, members are welcome to bring along up to 3 companions to ride with them. If your healthcare provider is out of town, trips to Collingwood, Thornbury, or Owen Sound for medical appointments are also available. Sign up now, and let us do the driving! Rates are $2 for in-town rides, and $8 for out of town trips.
Signing up is easy! For an application form, visit www.meaford.ca/transit, or call 519-538-1060 ext. 1100 for a hardcopy.
