Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
I would like to take a moment to thank the many local business owners and community members that donate to the ‘Take a Kid’ Bass Fishing Derby put on by the East Grey Hunters and Anglers.
This derby has been a tradition in our community for 32 years, and without those community supporters it would not exist. I would like to express how much enjoyment was experienced by the over 300 participants that partook in this year’s derby. Although the weather did not cooperate a 100 percent of the families came out with their rods and tried their best to catch the big one!
There were many laughs and many smiles around the Meaford Harbour that weekend, and it was all possible because of our sponsors.
For this reason I would like to thank the following companies and community members: Doug Goodwin Plumbing, Stuff To Read, Oriental, Captain’s Corner, A.J Hair Salon, Sheila’s Bakery, K&D Dunnill, Shoe Tree Meaford, Meaford Agricultural Society, Meaford Bowl, Jaekel Manufacturing, Sign of Kiwi, Jodie Lea Doran, Wolesely Mechanical, Highland Equipment, Meaford Convenience and Pet Stop, Meaford Kiwanis Club, E& R Bulk Barn, Municipality of Meaford, Krystal Klear Photography, Eagles Weed Control, Loblaws Collingwood, Pearson Auto Parts, BMO Meaford, Apple Country Craft Havest, Tim Hortons Meaford, Blue Water Machine & Tool, Wyville Plumbing, Cliff Richardson Boat Works, FishBum Clothing, Bliss-Andrea Nichols, Massage, Kia Owen Sound, Ken Whitton, Coast Guard Meaford, Jim Young & Kathy Higgs, MacDonald’s Brand Source, Schultz Masonary, John & Betty Tippin, TD Canada Trust Meaford, Mike Tippin/Shawna Petty, Renken & Associates, U Catch’em Charter, Borrow Link Insurance, Chapman’s Ice Cream, New Beginnings, SAIL-Cambridge, Ormbsy Electric, Red Wing Tackle, Home Yard Works -Ray Willson, Goldsmiths, Seabrooks Garage Walters Falls, Bill’s Valu-Mart, Complete Cooling & Heat, Foodland Meaford, Meaford Pythagoras Lodge #137, Kingsway Fishing Tackle, Ormsby Garden Center, Reg Noble, Walter Falls Feed Mill, Top Meadow Farms, Barbetta Orchards, Home Hardware, Jim Clarke Well Drilling, Desco Plumbing & Heating, Todd Robinson Contracting, Ice River Springs, Natural Green Landscaping, Attack, Buford Farms -Ken Martin, Town of Thornbury, Meaford Hunt Camp, Blue Mountain Collision, Brian & Laurie Laporte, Ideal Supply Collingwood, McIntee Reality, Jewel 99.3, Meaford Lions Club, Foodland Thornbury, RBC Dominion Securities, Roberts Farm Equipment, Rotary Meaford, Snap-On Owen Sound, Noble Insurance, Gary Swannell, Paul & Julie Cheesemen, Wayne Knott, Mortgage Alliance – Wendy Vasco, Masaba Knights of Meaford, Markdale Coop, Rocklyn Junior Farmers, Delfshaven Dorsets, DW Knott Ventures, Kerry’s Computers, Meaford Kinsmen, Dettmer Tire- Guelph, Shorepower Services- Jeff Woodhouse, Dave Clarke Plumbing, Rob Millar, Reg Nobles Dealership, No 1 Auto, Clarksburg Contractors, Canadian Bearings, MCR Industries -Dennis/Dee Risk, SEW Eurodrive, Ryan Knight, Home Works -Al Gordon, Farmers Pantry, Wyville Truck & Equipment Repairs, Lynda Hiles-Tyrrell.
