Thanks to the hard work of GBSS students, five BIG red Muskoka chairs will be popping up around the Municipality of Meaford at some of our most scenic locations.
Mayor Barb Clumpus will officially launch the new initiative on June 24 at 2pm at Irish Mountain Lookout with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Not only will the new big red Muskoka chair be showcased at the Irish Mountain Lookout ribbon cutting, the newly completed redevelopment of the site includes landscaping the addition of a bus turnaround making for a perfect setting for tourists and locals alike to take in one of the best views in the municipality where picturesque Georgian Bay meets the rolling countryside.
The Irish Mountain lookout can be found just off of Grey Road 112, north of highway 26 between Meaford and Owen Sound.
The chairs were built by GBSS students over the last school year. Along with Irish mountain lookout, the other four chairs will be placed at Leith Beach Park, Fred Raper Park, Station Hill Park, and Memorial Park.
