The search for a missing Meaford man continued on Wednesday, May 6, with a focus at the Lakeview Cemetery where the OPP had blocked the entrance on Wednesday morning.
Roughly a half dozen police vehicles were also stationed in Memorial Park throughout the day on Tuesday and again on Wednesday morning. The OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is directing the investigation.
Police have been asking area residents to search their properties for a red BMX bicycle that police say 25 year old Emerson Sprung was riding when he left his Trowbridge Street home at around 9 pm on Saturday May 2.
On Sunday, May 3, Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted by Sprung’s mother reporting her son did not return home.
Police have updated Spung’s description saying he is nearly six feet tall (the OPP originally issued a media release stating he was 5’6”), and weighs approximately 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing black cargo pants and a leather jacket.
Grey Bruce OPP are requesting anyone with information which can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a secure web-tip at www.cstip.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
