The Municipality of Meaford wants to hear your thoughts on business and tourism in the municipality as they develop an updated Economic Development Strategic Plan.
The plan will focus on achievable and measurable actions over the next three to five years that will guide Meaford’s use of resources and decisions to strengthen our local economy.
“We’re looking for feedback from local business owners, as well as people who live in or visit Meaford,” said Economic Development and Tourism Officer Stephen Murray. “We want to find out what about our business community works well, where the opportunities are, and where we may need more support.”
You can fill out the quick, seven question survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MeafordEcDevStrategy.
Meaford’s last Economic Development Strategy was developed in 2008, with a minor update in 2014. In 2019, the Municipality of Meaford received a grant of $30,000 from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs to put together a new Strategic Plan.
Meaford Council has appointed an Economic Development Task Force to assist with the plan, comprised of community members and business owner volunteers. McSweeney and Associates, an Economic Development consulting firm, will be working with staff and the task force to collect data and develop the plan.
The final Strategic Plan is expected to be presented to Council before the end of 2019.
