The Meaford Hospital Foundation is holding an online auction just in time for early holiday shoppers. The auction begins on November 14, at 7 am, and runs until November 25 at 8 pm.
“Money raised from the auction helps purchase up-to-date, state-of-the-art equipment for our local hospital,” said the foundation in a press release. Take a sneak peek now at some of the items we have on our Meaford Hospital Foundation Online Auction and check back frequently as items will be added daily.”
The foundation noted that the government no longer funds capital equipment for hospitals, making donations and ongoing support through initiatives like the online auction critical to Meaford’s hospital’s viability.
This is the first year that the auction has been open to the public.
“We decided to open our annual online auction to the public this year. Over the past few years the auction has been for staff at all Grey Bruce Health Services hospitals,” commented Barbara Little, event coordinator. “The auction has grown due to the amazing and ongoing support of so many local businesses and individuals. So this year we decided to open the online auction to the public. This gives our entire community an opportunity to, not only shop early for Christmas with some amazing deals, but also to help support our local health care needs .”
There are a wide variety of items to bid on including Dinner/Theatre tickets, local restaurant vouchers, art, massages, skiing and golf passes, home décor, outdoor adventure and much more!
Registered participants will have the opportunity to place “Proxy” bids this year. Which means you can place your “maximum” bid for each of the items you want to bid on and then walk away. Your bid will automatically start at the minimum and will increase by the bid increment as necessary until your maximum bid amount is reached. You will then be notified by email and you can decide whether you want to continue bidding or not.
Successful bidders will be contacted by email (please ensure your email and phone number are accurate when registering as a bidder.)
To participate in the auction, visit mhfoundation.ca and click on “Take Me To the Auction”. View the catalogue to preview over 70 items. You will be able to register immediately. Bidding starts at 7 a.m. On Nov. 14th.
