The Meaford Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival has announced that the ever-popular Golden Helmets, the OPP Motorcycle Precision Team, will join in the 20th anniversary celebrations on Friday, September 30, with a 45-minute performance on Sykes Street.
“The Golden Helmets’ last appearance in Meaford was in 2013, the year of their 50th anniversary,” said Head Scarecrow Marilyn Morris. “It’s an honour to have them back this year to help us celebrate our 20th anniversary.”
The Golden Helmets are comprised of 25 riders, all active OPP officers from throughout Ontario. They will perform on Sykes Street beginning at 5 p.m. and kick off of the Invasion’s parade that starts at 6 p.m.
