18 Hole Ladies Golf Club Has Been BusyOn Wednesday May 25, a beautiful spring day, found nine ladies from the 18 hole ladies club travelling to Batteaux Creek Golf Course for the first of three games of the ‘Chix with Stix’ inter-club competition.

Seventy-five ladies from seven local golf courses (Batteaux, Blue Mountain, Monterra, Cranberry, Duntroon, Marlwood, and Meaford) participated in the event, which allowed ladies to play regardless of their handicaps.

The next inter-club game will be at Blue Mountain on July 28, followed by the closing and celebration dinner at Marlwood on September 8.

On their regular golf day, Thursday, May 19, convenors Marge Allin and Doris George arranged a game with winners of ‘Blind Holes’. Low score winners on Randle 4 and 7, and Millennium 1 included Linda Walker, Lou Fowler, Donna Atkinson, and Joan Jensen.

The ‘most honest’ golfers, on Randle 5, and Millenium 4 and 9 were Eva Alcorn, Marg Tirpkoff, and Marg Franklin. A fun day as we get back into the swing of things. The first birdie of the year was scored by Donna Atkinson on Randle 9.

Unfortunately, on May 26 a rainy morning resulted in the ladies being unable to play.
