Man About to Leave LCBO Parking Lot Arrested and Charged With Impaired Driving, Refusing to Provide Breath Sample

opp logo270On April 29, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver operating a 2008 Chevrolet HHR vehicle in the Municipality of Meaford.

Police located the suspect vehicle as it was about to leave the LCBO parking lot located on Nelson Street West in Meaford.

The lone driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. He had been refused service at the LCBO due to his intoxication. The male was arrested and taken to the Meaford Detachment for breath tests. He refused to provide a suitable sample of his breath despite being cautioned as to the consequences.

A 57-year old Meaford man was charged with Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired and Fail/Refuse to Provide a Breath Sample under the Criminal Code.
