Elsie Edna Smith passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Listowel at the age of 88.
She is survived by and remembered fondly by her children: Sandra (Ray) Beisel, Debbie Kiss (Siggy), Michael (Janice) George.
Elsie will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Thomas (Melissa) Beisel, Shannon (David) Grist, Brandon Kiss, Adam (Vera) George, Matt (Jehn) George, Ashlynn (Dylan) McLeod, Core (Kelsey) George, and her 16 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert Smith, as well as her brothers Jim, Ken, and Barry, and sister Louella.
Once Elsie retired from Georgetown Bennett Centre she moved to Meaford where she spent many years, before eventually moving from Meaford to Listowel leaving behind many friends.
She loved walking and playing cards, as well as enjoying the occasional trip to the casino.
A private family service will be conducted at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford.
