The Meaford Scarecrow Invasion is celebrating a major milestone this year as the beloved fall tradition marks its 30th anniversary. Community members, businesses, organizations, and visitors are invited to join in the celebration as Meaford transforms into a colourful display of creativity under this year’s theme: Peace, Love and Happiness.
As preparations begin for this special anniversary year, residents and visitors are encouraged to take part in upcoming Scarecrow Building Workshops. No experience is necessary and all materials are provided, making it easy for everyone to get involved.
Workshop Details:
• June 9, 11, 16, and 18
• 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Meaford Rotary Harbour Pavilion
Participants are invited to bring friends, family, coworkers, or simply come on their own to create a scarecrow for this year’s celebration.
The festivities continue this fall with the annual Scarecrow Invasion Parade and Family Festival taking place on October 2, bringing together the community for a day filled with creativity, entertainment, and family fun.
For 30 years, the Meaford Scarecrow Invasion has brought people together through imagination, volunteerism, and community spirit. Organizers are excited to celebrate this milestone year and welcome both returning participants and first-time visitors to join the fun.
