Upcoming Live Fire Exercise at the Army Training Centre

The Commanding Officer of the Army Training Centre – Central (ATC-C) in Meaford has advised a live fire exercise taking place at ATC-C.

ATC-C recognizes the importance of community cooperation. Without the support of local communities, military members would not be able to accomplish their mission. Local communities provide key supports and services to military members that are necessary and appreciated. Activities on base occasionally impact the local area. While this may be unavoidable at times, ATC-C appreciates the understanding of local residents and does not underestimate this very important reciprocal relationship,” said the Commanding Officer.

Soldiers from 7th Toronto Regiment will be conducting live fire exercises at ATC-C from May 23 – 24. Noise from ranges at the training centre may be heard between 8 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. on those days.

Residents may notice a succession of loud noises during this time. Noise may be heard from weapons and large-calibre guns firing simultaneously. This exercise is purely for training purposes and at no time will safety or security of the public be in jeopardy.

The Commanding Officer thanks the public for their continued support to our military community.
