As Ontario’s cider industry continues to evolve, a growing diversity of styles is emerging—from traditional heritage ciders to more modern, experimental expressions. On June 20, the full spectrum will be on display at the third annual Blue Mountains Cider Festival, hosted at Spy Cider House & Distillery.
Set across Spy’s 80-acre estate orchard in the Blue Mountains, the festival will bring together 20 cideries from across the province—including five local producers—for an afternoon dedicated to celebrating Ontario cider. Designed as both a tasting experience and a showcase of the industry’s innovation, the festival highlights a wide range of cider styles, including natural, fruited, hopped, botanical, and spiced ciders, alongside wood- and barrel-aged offerings, ice cider, fortified cider, and other specialty releases.
“The goal of the festival is to bring together the cider community and showcase just how dynamic Ontario cider has become,” said Heather Smith, Director of Operations, Sales, & Marketing at Spy Cider House & Distillery. “It’s an opportunity for guests to experience the full range of what’s being produced across the province, all in one place.”
A standout feature of this year’s festival is its live music lineup, set against the backdrop of the orchard. This year’s lineup features acclaimed Canadian artists Terra Lightfoot and Daniel Greaves of The Watchmen, alongside local favourite Drew McIvor Stew—offering a full afternoon of performances that complement the relaxed, open-air setting.
Now in its third year, the Blue Mountains Cider Festival continues to grow as an early-summer destination, drawing visitors from across southern Ontario and beyond, while supporting local producers, regional agriculture, and the broader craft beverage industry.
In addition to cider tastings and shopping, guests can enjoy a curated selection of food vendors serving seafood, pizza, burgers, fries, and other cider-friendly fare.
The festival runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Spy Cider House & Distillery in Clarksburg. On-site parking is available.
Tickets are available now at an early bird price of $30, with day-of admission priced at $40.
