The letter of July 17, 2025, in the Meaford Independent newspaper by Jim Molineux hit the nail on the head! After reviewing the Heritage Advisory Committee meetings held earlier it seems there is need for further clarification from the developer on the current site plan for this proposal – especially as discussion of this showed many details were not understood.
Such topics about construction on shaky ground, blasting activities, closeness of sewage siphons and water intake supply areas are just a few of the areas which need to have professional experts comment on. The issue of insurance of the units of this project is also something which may prove questionable.
The reference to the SkyDev proposal (Aspen Shores) which currently has a large hill of excavated earth as well as an enormous pond could be the results of a lack of professional research done prior to any construction on a site.
No more potential liabilities for Meaford are wanted – please reconsider future development smoke and mirrors.
