GBCS Choir Sings National Anthem Before Knights Game

On Saturday, February 22, more 40 children from Georgian Bay Community School gathered excitedly in a dressing room at the Meaford arena, awaiting their chance to sing the national anthem for the Knights’ first home game of their playoff season.

The kids were abuzz with nerves and laughter. When it was time for action, they were star struck as they paraded behind the home team bench and made their way onto the ice.

As the students settled into their places, their practise paid off. They proudly sang O Canada to the crowd, switching confidently between our two official languages and staying together throughout. They finished to cheers and hockey sticks beating the boards as players congratulated them for their efforts.

Many thanks go out to Nathan Parrish and the Knights’ team for helping to make this happen for our students. Thanks as well to parents for your support of this special event,” said the school.
