The Lord at his appointed time promoted Klaas Jacob Werkman of Meaford to heavenly glory after a short illness at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound, on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
Born in the Netherlands on Monday, December 11, 1933, Klaas was in his 92nd year. Beloved husband and best friend of Audrey Werkman (née Grypstra) for 63 years. Proud father of Rick Werkman (Vicki), Edith Bosscher (John), Nancy Hordyk (Mel), Sid Werkman (Nicole), Jeff Werkman (Kim), Dave Werkman (Sylvia), and Dan Werkman (Kori). Cherished grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Menno Werkman (Joanne), Annette Leffers, Jake Werkman, Rita Bosch (Chris), Harry Werkman (Freeda), and brother-in-law of Johanna Werkman, Syd Grypstra, John Grypstra, and Ronny Speijer (Rob). Klaas will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and friends he made along the way, for his bright smile and sense of humor. Predeceased by his parents Jan and Antje Werkman.
Visitation will be held at the Owen Sound Canadian Reformed Church, 177551 Concession 5, Owen Sound, on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Klaas’s life will be held at the church on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery.
