The Caring for Tomorrow Endowment Fund was established in 1996 to enable donors to invest in a healthy future for everyone in Grey Bruce.
Last week, the Endowment contributed $919,640 for 2023/24.
“Support directed to the Endowment by donors continues to impact patient care year after year,” said Foundation Chair, Anne Robertson. “Every gift is an investment in our hospital care and we’re excited and thankful to witness what endowment donors have accomplished through the Fund once again.”
The money will help make improvements throughout Brightshores Owen Sound Hospital, including an ultrasound unit for Interventional Radiology, a radioactive material storage cabinet for Nuclear Medicine, a cautery machine for Ambulatory Care, new microtomes for the Lab, flooring in Diabetes Education to name just a few. $19,261 of the total will assist staff with continuing education.
In addition to 30 named and special purpose endowments, the “Emerging Needs” fund helps meet the Hospital’s must urgent needs for medical equipment.
The Endowment continues to grow, with gifts from individuals, families and Estates. In 2023, $340,797 was added. Two new named funds created, including the Murray & Coral Noble Family Endowment and the Norah Parker Clark Endowment.
With last week’s contribution, the Endowment has provided more than $8.4 million to the Hospital.
“For 2023/24, we prioritized $12.8 million of equipment and improvements across our hospitals,” said Ann Ford, President & CEO of Brightshores Health System. “On behalf of the entire leadership team, thank you to each and every donor who invests in our regional health care system. Your support ensures that we can continue to provide exceptional care well into the future.”
A gift to the Endowment is a legacy that will ensure future generations get the hospital care they need, when they need it, close to home.
