Who Will be on the Ballot on October 24?

After the close of the municipal election nomination period at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 19, the official list of candidates has been confirmed by the municipal Clerk.

While Meaford voters will have a dozen candidates to choose from to fill the five councillor seats, there will be just two candidates for mayor on the ballot on October 24, and the deputy mayor position has been acclaimed by incumbent Shirley Keaveny with no opponents registering to run against her.

The list of candidates for the 2022 municipal election is as follows:

The official list of certified candidates is now available on the municipal election website (www.meafordvotes.ca), and is posted at the Administration Office, 21 Trowbridge Street West.

For the October 24 municipal election, the municipality will vote in person or by mail. If you would like to register to vote by mail, you will need to complete the application form available at www.meafordvotes.ca before Thursday, September 15.

Voters will also be able to cast their ballots in person on voting day, Monday, October 24. Advance polls will also be available.
