Home Horizon Brought Little Artists And Local Professional Artists Together For 13th Annual Bowls For Beds Fundraiser

Bowls for Beds (and Bids!) was an amazing event and fundraiser, according to organizers.

We hosted two events: the sale of beautiful handmade pottery bowls (made by local potter Sandra Saunders), which were hand-painted by local elementary school students; and then our annual “Bowls for Bids” where we auctioned off 26 unique, hand-painted bowls by local celebrated artists. We held the auction on line to continue to increase awareness of our organization. Through these initiatives, we were able to successfully raise just over $29,000. Thank you to all of our sponsors and to those everyone who supported this fundraiser,” said organizers.

Home Horizon is a local not-for-profit organization helping homeless youth in the South Georgian Bay area. Their mission is to transform the lives of youth at risk of homelessness by providing them with the opportunity to rebuild their lives and achieve their full potential. The need is so great that the Barbara Weider House has been full since it opened in July 2017 and there is an ongoing waiting list for its services.

Fund Development Manager Deb Piggott extended thanks to their lead sponsor C.F. Crozier & Associates, supporting sponsors, the elementary schools, young artists, local professionals, celebrated artists, and volunteers.

For more information or to purchase a 2022 bowl(s), please contact Deb Piggott, Fund Development Manager at debpiggott@homehorizon.ca or phone at 705-888-3636. They have a number of bowls left, you can help by purchasing some – they make amazing gifts filled with a special something or simply a gift certificate. Partial tax receipts are available for your donation, and all proceeds go directly to Home Horizon.
