For the first time ever, the Meaford Lawn Bowling Club is offering a Junior Program.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Apple Harvest Craft Show, the club is able to purchase smaller bowls to allow younger bowlers to enjoy the game. Lawn bowling is a little like bocce ball because you roll an object toward a smaller one on grass, however the ‘bowl’ is round with flat sides and its path curves, which is a little like curling.
Two age groups are welcome to learn a new sport this summer. Ages 6 to 11 and 12 to 18 will have bowling sessions Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. from July 5 to August 30 with the exception of July 12. The older age group can also participate in regularly scheduled adult sessions Monday and Wednesday at 10 a.m., Tuesday and Thursday at 6:45 p.m. and special Fridays at 7 p.m.
Register at your first session. Kids play all summer for only $25.00 for ages 6 to 11 and $50.00 for 12 to18.
