Local filmmaker Amy Phelan, whose short film John Muir at Trout Hollow has been selected for the Meaford International Film Festival (MIFF), has donated her festival screening fee of $300 to the Meaford Museum.
“I have always been interested in John Muir’s time in Meaford, and when I was making the movie, the Meaford Museum was a wonderful resource. In return, I want to use this film to raise support for the museum. The film is near the end of its festival run and I hope it will continue to raise funds for the museum, perhaps through virtual screenings,” said Phelan.
Moonlight MIFF is taking place as a drive-in event at the parking lot of the Meaford/St. Vincent Community Centre on Sept. 4 and 5. John Muir at Trout Hollow will be shown on both evenings, accompanied by a feature film and music from local musician Victoria Yeh. Tickets are $50 per car and available at www.meafordfilmfest.ca
