Meaford’s Georgian Bay Secondary School Cooperative Education Department presented its annual co-op employers of the year award this week.
The award for semester one was presented to Muxlow Pharmacy owner Chris Davies and his staff. The pharmacy allows students behind the counter access into the careers of pharmacy technicians and pharmacists.
The semester two award went to electrician James Korbelas who works in the Engineering Services department of the Meaford Hospital. James obtained donations from local suppliers to build an electrical training board for his co-op student and created homework lessons based on the electrical code book.
The cooperative education department acknowledges the continued support of local businesses in communities of Meaford, Thornbury, Clarksburg, Owen Sound and Collingwood.
