Editor,
I had a first time visitor to Meaford this week. Was proud to driver her around to view Memorial Park, Lakeview Cemetery, the harbour and waterfront, Meaford Hall, the old fire hall, was delighted to see tennis and pickleball courts.
Everything was going find until she saw the new library. It sits there like a big ‘blackhead’ in the middle of our quaint little town. Unfortunately I had to agree.
Even if a red brick exterior had been used it would have been more in keeping with the downtown.
We also had a good look around the outside and I noticed there is ONE handicap parking spot with four concrete steps ahead of it. Other than walking half way around the building, how does a person with a disability enter?
There appears to be a lot of the vacant land designated to trees and more weeds than parking.
What a waste of time and money.
