Thanks to recent warm spring temperatures, Meaford residents can now turn off the taps after being asked to run water to prevent water lines from freezing.

The exception is if your pipes did freeze and you were set up with a temporary above-ground water line. In this case, please keep running your tap until regular service is restored. A stream of water the size of a pencil will be enough keep the above ground lines from freezing during colder nights,” advised the municipality.

The unusually cold winter kept municipal staff busy, and Operations Director, Stephen Vokes said he is proud of his crew, and thankful for the patience of residents who lost water service.

Our dedicated staff did an excellent job of restoring water service to our residents as quickly as possible,” said Operations Director Stephen Vokes. “And our residents were extremely patient and supportive throughout the whole process. We are looking forward to warmer weather and getting all water services back to normal.”
