Letter to the Editor
Editor,
Ironically, on the morning after everyone is to test their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, our carbon monoxide detector sounded. Knowing that my husband had just changed the batteries, I opened some windows and called the Fire Department. They arrived quickly and set up in our lane-way. Entering the house they found high readings of carbon monoxide in several rooms. After systematically eliminating sources, the problem was detected and corrected. Only after every area of our house had a zero reading of carbon monoxide did the firefighters pack up. All they left behind was another carbon monoxide detector to reassure our night’s sleep.
Our family is very gratefully to the working carbon monoxide detector and a very proficient Fire Department.
