On Thursday, October 29, at approximately 9:28 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Bayfield Street in the Municipality of Meaford.

Police attended and found that a 2011 Mazda CX7 had collided with light standard on Bayfield Street causing damage to the pole and extensive damage to the front end of the vehicle. The lone driver was found seated inside the vehicle which was “revving”.  It was determined that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

The driver, who was not injured, was arrested for impaired driving and taken to the OPP Detachment in Chatsworth for breath tests, which she failed.

The 62 year old Meaford woman was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80 milligrams.  She is to appear in court in Owen Sound on November 12, 2015.
