On Sunday morning, March 22, 2015, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated several thefts from vehicle reports in the Municipality of Meaford.
Sometime over night, seven unlocked vehicles were entered and a number of items taken, including cash, cigarettes and ski gloves. The areas targeted were Trowbridge St. W., Sykes St. N., Grandview Dr., Ford Ave. and Algonquin Dr.
Grey County OPP remind residents that these types of thefts are a crime of opportunity and can be prevented. An unlocked vehicle door or an open window is an invitation to thieves. Remember to always roll up the windows, lock the doors, and keep valuables out of plain view.
Residents are encouraged to report suspicious vehicles and or persons to police.
