The Bargain Shop Meaford Donates $300 to MCF

Staff

While distributing Meaford International Film Festival (MIFF) posters, Deborah Ise, Director, Community Outreach for the Meaford Culture Foundation, had occasion to speak to Cheryl, manager of The Bargain Shop in Meaford. Later, Cheryl contacted Deborah to say she would like to support the causes of the Foundation and they arranged to exchange a very welcome $300 donation.

During COVID-19, the Foundation has supported student families who were unable to replicate the classroom setting in their homes, musicians who had no venues to perform in, and recreation art camp kits for low-income children aged 5-11 years, among other endeavours that enable unique arts and culture experiences, level the playing field for our local youth, and champion Meaford as a place to visit and live.

MIFF is their largest fundraiser. This year’s festival was run virtually over the Thanksgiving weekend.

The Bargain Shop has been serving the local Meaford community for 15 years, and employs seven locally. It is part of a chain of over 140 general merchandise stores proudly serving Canadians in small communities under the Red Apple and The Bargain Shop banners. All things spooky and strange for Hallowe’en are now available.
