The Meaford Day Away Program runs Tuesday – Friday, and sees approximately 21 clients per day. Our program is located at the Meaford Hospital. The Day Away Program is a community program that provides socialization and medical monitoring for adults, as well as respite for caregivers.
Recently we received a donation from the Meaford Apple Harvest Craft Show Committee to purchase a large Smart TV for our program space. This benefits our clients in so many ways and we are grateful to the Committee for considering our agency when donating to their community.
The Smart TV is a welcome addition to our space. We have many uses for it – our favourite being ‘Arm Chair Travels’. We use the TV to travel with the clients to places of their choice. We have travelled out west, overseas, to a tropical destination and to places people grew up or chose because of various reasons. Of course we also use this for a lively session of Karaoke, and to play our favourite virtual games like Family Feud. It also helps our clients to keep up with current events and world news.
Thank you so much to the Meaford Apple Harvest Craft Show Committee for supporting our clients and staff in the work we do. Your donation is greatly appreciated and will be used to entertain and stimulate clients in your community for years to come.
