It is unbelievable to me that, being on the town-line, it is only now coming to the council’s attention that these bridges are equally owned by Meaford and Chatsworth municipalities.
Two years ago when I called the Chatsworth office to enquire on the status of this bridge repair I was told that they hadn’t yet addressed it, but in any event, the costs would have to be shared with Meaford and that they had not heard from Meaford on the matter. Naturally I thought the Meaford town council would be better informed than a new resident to the area, especially before undertaking the huge expense they have made for the feasibility study.
Factoring in the time and money wasted, the bridges could have been repaired by now if common sense had prevailed.
