On Wednesday, December 3, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a mischief report after a Municipality of Meaford employee discovered three properties that had been “tagged” with graffiti.

Buildings and or structures within McCarroll Park, on Parker Street East, Raper’s Park, on Bayfield Street, and the Pavilion located at the intersection of Denmark Street and Bridge Street, in Meaford were tagged sometime between October 1 and December 3.

Orange and blue paint, as well as black markers were used.  Letters “Nism”, “GRN”, “BDJ”, “B”, “SERE”, as well as some profanities were found.

Graffiti has a negative impact on the community and may be costly to remove.

Person(s) responsible may be charged with the criminal offence of mischief, which is the wilful damage or destruction of property.

Get involved.  Report suspicious activity to police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or submit a Web Tip to www.crimestop-gb.org.  You may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
