Despite the cold, wet weather, the Georgian Shores Bantam Rep players took to the streets in Meaford and Thornbury on Saturday morning collecting food items for the local food banks.
Zehrs in Owen Sound along with community members donated funds to help with the purchase of some necessary items for food bank recipients.
“We were unable to get to every home in both communities, but feel free to drop of a nonperishable food item into a box located at the Meaford and Beaver Valley arenas. These boxes will be at the arenas for a few more days. Thank you to the communities for their generous donations to the Golden Town Outreach and the Beaver Valley Outreach,” said organizers.
