Reader Offers Additional Ways to Cope With Arthritis

Letter to the Editor

The Editor,

Last week’s edition (September 1 print paper) had comprehensive information on the different types of arthritis and advice on how to treat it.

Two things that have worked well for me were not mentioned, however.

I used to have painful hands after working in the garden or in the shop. Over the counter medication was less than effective.

Then, last winter I bought a pair of lambskin gloves at Saunders Men’s Wear in Durham. I wore them driving home and they felt so good that I have been wearing them in bed overnight ever since. Sleep like a baby WITHOUT medication.

Also using lamb/sheepskin on my knees when watching TV or reading. Almost as effective as the cat on my lap.

Saw some beautiful sheepskins at the Meaford Farmers’ Market recently.
