Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor,
The very favourable response to your editorial regarding councillors observing snow clearance work in person seems to indicate that the old concept of ‘rank imposes obligations’ is alive and well.
The concept is applied at the highest levels in Western democracies, where national leaders are expected to promptly attend scenes of disaster and see that the appropriate relief is applied.
It would become our new Prime Minister to apply this principle in areas of the country where thousands have lost their jobs, and where our forces are fighting the worst scourge since World War II.
Yours,
Anthony Sharp, Meaford
