Sharing Veggies With the Meaford Community Gardens

Over the last few years, the number of people involved with the Meaford Community Gardens has steadily grown, and so has the amount of food cultivated in the gardens.

In addition to sharing food through the Golden Town Outreach Food Bank, the Meaford Community Gardens group has also been sharing food through the Meaford Community Gardens Market.

The Meaford Community Gardens Market occurs every Thursday from 5-7 pm in front of the Church of the Nazarene, across from the Meaford Post Office, and will run until there is no more beautiful food from the gardens to be shared.

All of the produce is offered on a pay-what-you-can basis and all the money goes towards Meaford Community Gardens. Stop by for some, but not limited to, beans, carrots, potatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes and, if you are lucky, a song by Meaford Community Gardens co-coordinator Jaden Calvert.

If you are interested in donating fresh produce to the Meaford Community Gardens Market and/or the Golden Town Outreach Food Bank and/or are interested in getting involved with Meaford Community Gardens, contact Jaden Calvert at jaden@mail.uoguelph.ca or 519-538-0628.
