Editor,
I would like to congratulate Meaford council and staff for their approval of the proposed Downtown Sykes Street condo development.
I hope county council also recognizes the need for a timely, positive vote on this type of development plan.
If the development moves forward it will be a giant step into much-needed downtown revitalization.
This type of project will be a Meaford asset and not be a taxpayer burden.
This is a very popular decision and appreciated by the majority of Meaford residents.
Council only hears from a few vocal opponents at public meetings and do not receive delegations representing the silent majority supporting change and progress.
Council and staff invested a lot of time and effort into reviewing all sides of the proposal and have made a very intelligent, unanimous decision to allow change in our small community.
