Grey County OPP report that on Sunday, October 20 police arrested and charged a Grey Highlands man after he had committed a series of offences in the Municipality of Meaford.
It started on Saturday, October 19, at approximately 8:15 a.m., when police received a report of a damaged stop sign at the intersection of Grey Road 12 and the 7 th Line.
Shortly after, police received a report of a stolen 1995 Honda 52S all-terrain vehicle (ATV) from a residence on the 7 th Line. While searching the area, a damaged farm tractor was located behind the Riverside Community Centre on the 7 th Line. The tractor was confirmed to be stolen.
While conducting their investigation, police located the stolen ATV, at which time they received a report of a residential break in on the Euphrasia-St. Vincent Town-line.
With the assistance of several area residents, police were able to identify the suspect, who eventually turned himself into the Meaford OPP Detachment.
A 20 year old man from the Municipality of Grey Highlands, was charged with the following criminal offences: theft over $5,000 of a motor vehicle; break and enter into a dwelling and theft under $5,000 of a motor vehicle. He was also charged with fail to remain under the Highway Traffic Act.
He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on December 12, 2013.
