Release your inner nerd and experience the fourteenth annual Owen Sound Mini Con, Saturday, May 2, at the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library.
Starting at 10 a.m., the Owen Sound Mini Con (OSMiCon) presents an entire day of comics and fandom-related programming, including videogame tournaments, board games with Scenic City Game Emporium, indoor inflatable snowball throw courtesy of Can Do Events, button making, prize draws, a Pokémon photo wall and more.
Local creators will be set up throughout the building showcasing a wide variety of fandom related art and crafts. This year’s OSMiCon event is welcoming the most exhibitors in the event’s history. There will be 16 unique artists making items ranging from D&D accessories, 3D printed items, resin, colour-changing potions, felt dolls, leatherwork, zines, and artwork. All exhibitors will have items for sale.
Come in costume to take part in our morning kids’ cosplay parade at 11 a.m. or stick around for the cosplay competition in the Auditorium at 3 p.m. Registration for the cosplay competition will happen throughout the day at the Youth Services Desk.
OSMiCon is mostly free, but bring money if you would like to purchase food from the Library’s snack bar, buy something from one of our exhibiting artists, make a button, or give a donation to support the future of OSMiCon.
