Police Investigating Weekend Auto Accident

On Saturday, July 6, at approximately 9:57 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle fire on the 7th Line, north of Side-road 10 in the Municipality of Meaford.

Witnesses who heard the crash, observed the vehicle, a 1996 GMC Jimmy, on fire and called police.  The lone driver, a 57 year old male from the Municipality of Meaford, was pulled from the vehicle. He was transported to the Meaford Hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

Police, the Meaford Fire Department and Grey County Emergency Services (EMS) responded.

Alcohol was a factor,” said OPP Media Relations Officer, Alina Grelik in a press release.
