Frequent CCMA roots artist of the year, Corb Lund is bringing his ‘Spring Thaw’ tour to Meaford Hall on Sunday April 13.
Lund and his band the Hurtin’ Albertans’ will kick off the Ontario leg of their Canadian tour in Barrie on April 9, and from Ontario, Lund heads west to Alberta and British Columbia.
The tour is in support of Lund’s most recent release Cabin Fever which found its way to the top of the Canadian Billboard chart in its first week of release. In a recent interview with the Independent, Lund said that he is looking forward to bringing his self-described “old-fashioned, rough around the edges” music to Meaford for the first time.
“It’ll be old-fashioned honky-tonk music, a lot of it, so it’s good theatre music,” said Lund adding that he and his band are doing something new with this tour – they are taking requests.
With seven albums under his belt, his fans have a wide assortment of songs to request.
“We’re doing a request thing this time so people can email us or Tweet us ahead of time to make requests, and we’ll probably take requests during the show too,” explained Lund.
For his Ontario shows the Strumbella’s will assume opening act duties, and Harlan Pepper will open for Lund in the west.
Corb Lund and the Hurtin’ Albertans’ performance at Meaford Hall takes place on Sunday April 13 at 8 pm. Please note that the remaining tickets for this performance must be purchased directly through the Box Office in person or via phone at 1.877.538.0463. Online ticket sales have now closed.
