Meaford Youth Discover Curling

Young curler 01 270The challenge for the future of curling is how to engage youngsters in the game at an early age, and at Meaford Curling Club this challenge has been up front and centre for a number of years.

With lots of competition from other sports, the question has always been how to make this game fun, rewarding, and inexpensive for young people. With the passage of time the club's efforts have matured to the point where there are now thirty-three weekly participants aged from Grades one to eight.

Local Bantam Curlers Treated to Champion Advice

Laing7 270A team of local curlers arrived for their regular practise Wednesday, February 8, at Meaford Curling Club and they were treated to a surprise.

Brent Laing, current World Men’s Curling Champion, and friend and former Junior teammate Andy Ormsby joined the young curlers on the ice.

Coyote Earns Spot on Ontario Midget Track Team

olivia carn feb 2017 270Olivia Karn, a grade 8 student from Coldwater, and a member of the Meaford Coyotes Track Club, has been selected to the Ontario Midget Track Team.  She will be competing at York University on Saturday, February 11, at the Ontario-Quebec Midget Dual Meet and will be racing in the 800m event.
