Obituary: Cathrae, Shirley Leona

ShirleyCathrae270Born in St. Vincent Township on June 5, 1933, a daughter of the late Clifford and Mary (nee Young) Ford, Shirley passed away peacefully at her residence in Meaford, on Sunday May 6, 2018 at the age of 84.

Shirley was predeceased by her first husband, Robert ‘Bob’ Morris in 1969, after which time she assumed the role of owner, operator and caring manager of the family business in Meaford, ‘Morris Memorials’, where she became respected in the community and surrounding area for her many years of dedicated service to the citizens she served with great compassion and empathy.

Obituary: Boyle, Eleanor ‘Bunny’                                                   

Boyle obit270Eleanor, the daughter of the late Norman and Myrtice Boyle of Meaford, passed away with her family by her side at the Campbell House Hospice Collingwood on Wednesday, April 11 2018 at the age of 77.

Eleanor was predeceased by her daughter Nancy Daigle and brother Vincent Boyle both of Meaford. She will be sadly missed as a loving mother by Chuck (Cindy) Murray of Owen Sound, Rob (Lillian) Murray, Leanne (Rod) Harvey, and Trevor (Jenn) Harvey all of Meaford and by her 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

BashorRalph B. Bashor, 90, of Drumcliffe Drive, Warren, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at Kinzua Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Warren, PA. Ralph was born July 25th, 1927, in Casper, WY, the son of the late Emanuel and Laura Bashor. Ralph was a graduate of Natrona County High School in Casper, WY. He obtained Bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business from the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO. Ralph served in the Army with honorable discharge in 1952.

Obituary: Owen, Velma Ruth

Velma Owen Pic270The passing of Velma Ruth Owen of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Monday, February 19, 2018, at Paradise Villa Seniors Residence. Born in Indian River, PEI, on October 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Erskine Hunter and late Rosie (Wall) Brown. Before retirement, Velma was an owner of various businesses, most notably the Meaford Nursing Home in Ontario and Molly's Canteen and Cottages in PEI. She was also a globe trotter, had many furry companions over the years, and was known to lend a helping hand up to those in need.
