windturbine005The Liberal government’s change of heart about its multi-billion dollar “sweetheart Samsung deal” confirms that the green energy plans have been botched from the get-go, says Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker.

Walker was commenting on the news that the provincial government was cutting in half its controversial sole-sourced deal with South Korean conglomerate Samsung to produce green power in Ontario.

MPP Walker Pleased Province Scraps Plans to Repeal “Industrial Exception”

Local MPP Bill Walker says pressure from his caucus and industry has forced the Liberal government to scrap plans to repeal a provision that would have had negative repercussions on manufacturers in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound and across the province.

The repeal of the so-called “industrial exception” would compel a manufacturer to hire an engineer to approve slight modifications to production machinery. Walker called the repeal an unnecessary regulatory burden on an industry that is recognized for its standards of excellence.

MPP Walker Asks Minister to Stop Cutting Physio For Seniors

queensparkBruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker rose during Tuesday's (June 4) question period to urge the health minister to stop cutting physiotherapy services.

Seniors are afraid your plan to provide physio services through the LHINs and CCACs will result in drastic cuts to their treatments,” Walker told Minister of Health and Long-Term Care Deb Matthews at Queen’s Park.
