Council Acts Quickly to Address Cell Tower Concerns - Rally in Support of Council's Action at Noon Outside Meaford Hall

cell tower David Burbach225With some major issues on the agenda, Meaford's council chamber was filled to capacity and beyond on March 24, with many who turned out to the meeting having to listen to the proceedings from the lobby.

One of those issues appeared to have attracted the bulk of the attendees – resident concerns about a proposed cell tower near Meaford's high school.

OPP Dispute Numbers in Staff Report

A report dated March 4, 2014, was sent to Meaford's council from the OPP's Superintendent-Commander of their Municipal Policing Bureau, Rick Philbin, that identifies areas of Meaford's staff report on policing options for the municipality that the OPP claim are false or misleading.

UPDATED: OSNGUPL Non-Resident Fees Skyrocket

booksThe Owen Sound North Grey Union Public Library (OSNGUPL) announced late Tuesday (March 25) that the non-resident user fee is increasing from $160 per year to $500.

At its regular monthly meeting today (March 25), the Board of the Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library Board voted to increase its non- resident user fee to $500 per family. The Library’s non-resident fee has remained the same at $160.00 since 1994 when the first union library agreement was signed,” said the OSNGUPL in a press release.

Name Change Question Will Not be on October Ballot
